Welcome to our updated guide to the best Italian restaurants in Salt Lake City. But were talking more than just your classic Italian favorites. From pasta to pizza to specialty cheeses, Salt Lake City has a lot to offer when it comes to Italian cuisine. We may not have the reputation like other major cities for our Italian restaurant options, but that didnt stop us from making our way through a lot of cheesy, garlicky, and carby goodness to bring you 11 neighborhood favorites. Its time to put SLC on the map with our top recommendations for pomodoro spaghetti, gnocchi arrabbiata, and authentic Italian pizza.
Stepping into Francescos means stepping into your uncles low-key Italian restaurant in Salt Lake City. Tucked into a busy Taylorsville shopping plaza, Fancescos is a simple family diner that serves traditional Italian classics without frills and fluff. Each pasta dish is made with thick homemade noodles and smothered in your choice of alfredo, meat, or marinara sauces. The family style restaurant serves some killer garlic bread that may fill you up before you dive into your entrees. There are dozens of options but our favorites are the stuffed manicotti and lasagna. One bite and youll be glad you stopped in.
The Osteria Amore Story
Osteria Amore in Salt Lake City came to life because we believe in the power of food to change your day, or in our case, change your life.
Owner Eduardo Daja has been working in restaurants since he was a teenager growing up in Italy, and his time in culinary school only strengthened his passion for food. After culinary school, Ed stayed in Bologna to work at a family-owned restaurant. He moved to Utah eight years ago, and found himself missing his first love, food. For the past three years, Ed has been managing an Italian restaurant while also maintaining a career in tech and finally made the life-changing decision to open his own restaurant.
That big decision was made possible for Ed when he met Marco Cuttaia, now Osteria Amores executive chef and partner. Eds training in Bologna, considered the food capital of Italy, and Marcos upbringing in Palermo, known for its incredible street food, bridge northern and southern Italian culinary tradition in a way thats never been done in Salt Lake City.
Together with the rest of our team, Ed and Marco hope to bring a piece of Italy to the SLC community that theyve grown to love. We want you to experience the traditional flavors of Italy with a modern spin, in a beautiful space that we built with you in mind.

Caputos Market And Deli
Multiple locations
One of my favorite types of Italian restaurants is a classic deli.
Caputos Market and Deli fills this niche in Salt Lake City.
Better yet, there are two locations, so you are never far away from incredibly imported Italian goods and some of the best sandwiches you have ever had.
When you visit Caputos, I recommend the meatball sandwich and the muffuletta.
The meatballs are made in-house, and they are fantastic.
The muffuletta is a classic Italian sandwich stuffed with ham, salami, and olive salad.
It is delicious. Caputos should be your first stop if youre looking for a great Italian deli in Salt Lake City.
Dont forget to pick up something at the market when you leave.
Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana is one of the best places to get a slice of pizza in Salt Lake City.
You can find it in downtown Salt Lake City on the corner of 200W and 300 S.
It is a couple of blocks east of Pioneer Park and just south of the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art.
The pizza here is made in the traditional Neapolitan style and is some of the best pizza I have ever had.
I highly recommend the Margherita pizza, a classic Neapolitan pizza made with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
The pizza here is all cooked in a wood-fired oven.
Caputos Market & Deli

While not your typical sit-down restaurant, Caputos is our next Italian restaurant in Salt Lake City for its speciality cheeses, meats, chocolate, and other regional Italian foods. The employees here are incredibly knowledgable and will help you find exactly what you need, and situated beside the market is a Deli that serves up fantastic Italian sandwiches. We recommend their most popular sandwich, The Caputo prosciutto, mortadella, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, olive oil, and balsamic. Close second to that is the The Meatball meatballs, marinara sauce, parmesan and provolone cheeses. Both are very filling but make sure you leave room for a sea salt chocolate chip cookie as well.

# 2 Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana
Maybe to some, Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana in Salt Lake City, Utah, is just another pizzeria. But to the majority, it is so much more. This pizzeria has been here since 2005 and was one of the first in the U.S. to recreate Pizza Napoletana exactly how it has been made in Napoli, Italy, for centuries. The restaurant recreates the pizza-making process as it was created in Napoli centuries ago and has even been certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana . This is a big deal because the VPN doesnt certify just any pizzeria. Everything from the dough to the cooking process is authentic, and Settebello takes great pride in this.

Siragusas Taste Of Italy
Neighborhood: Taylorsville
I mentioned red-checkered plastic tablecloths in the intro to this list. Siragusas has green-checkered plastic tablecloths. So I guess Green > Red. Just like Power Rangers. Siragusas is that Italian restaurant that feels like family. Big portions. Big flavor. No fuss. Get yourself a Combination Plate with two half orders of any pasta with garlic bread. Or I guess you could just order two full orders at full price.
